License Plate

There are several license plate brackets and frames but Craig's Custom License Plate allows for a damage free installation. However, there are a few issues as it partially covers the radar sensor and isn't centered on the bumper.

By utilizing adhesive strips to mount the bracket directly to the license plate you can increase the mounting height of the plate where it is centered on the front bumper and covers the same amount of the radar as the front plate bracket provided by Ford.

Step 2: Align Bracket & Prep Surfaces

Install the mounting bracket post on your mustang according to the instructions provided with Craig's Custom License Plate Bracket.

Mount the license plate to the bracket with the screws provided in the kit and gently hold in position on the mounting bracket if you haven't allowed the post to fully cure.

Visually determine how much higher the license plate should sit for your desired position. Measure the distance from where the plate is currently and how far it needs to be raised.

Remember that number.

On the back of the license plate while the bracket is still mounted. Draw a line across the top of the bracket.

Now disassemble the bracket and clean both the bracket and the license plate with alcohol prep pads.

Use the number from step C and measure down from the line you just drew across top of the plate, mark a new line for where the top of the bracket will be mounted.

Cut pieces of 3M VHB Adhesive Strips and adhere to the bracket frame on as much surface area as possible.

Line up the bracket with the line you drew on the plate and press together.

Step 3: Cut Holes

Measure where the bracket extends from the plate, mark the silicone plate frame and cut out the necessary holes.

I cut out the top bumper holes, however, you could just rip these off as they aren't necessary since the silicone plate cover will not damage the paint on your mustang.

Step 6: Make Final Adjustments

Due to the flexibility of Craig's License Plate Bracket, the plate did not mount perfectly strait. Simply take some pliers or your hand and make any minor adjustments to the perpendicular bracket on the back of the plate to ensure a flush and level installation.
